Jesus’ road to Calvary underscores that having everything look pristine and work in good order is not his highest priority; indeed, we know all too well the ugliness that can be found in the church. Yet the church is beautiful, because it is the body of Christ. The beauty of the church is the beauty of Jesus. In this week’s meditation, The Church’s True Beauty, Rev. Dr. Sheldon W. Sorge explores this and more.
Is your church a learning laboratory? Is your ministry taking on new shapes and forms? Are you finding new ways to be faithful to the ministry that you’ve carried out for generations? If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, you might want to consider being a field education site for a seminary student. The Administrative Commission on Transformation (ACT) has grants available to support student ministers as they learn new approaches to ministry for the future of the Church. To submit an application, click here and follow the prompts for the “Seminary Intern Grant.”
