Bedrock Church

Jesus is clear about what will make credible his followers’ claim to be his disciples. They will be publicly recognized as his disciples by how they love each other. In a post-pandemic church that has lost much in resources, attendance, and capacity, we may find that all that’s left is love. And if so, we have everything we need. Lazarus Fund Re-opening!

The Lazarus Fund has reached their fundraising goal of $25,000 and are re-opening the application process for block grants! Block grant applications will now be approved during their monthly committee meetings on the first Tuesday of each month. The Lazarus Fund Ministry Team’s mission is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, by providing financial assistance to families and individuals of Allegheny County for rent, mortgage payments, security deposits, and utilities, enabling them to overcome their economic difficulties through the grace and love of Jesus Christ as demonstrated through the giving of individuals and congregations of the Pittsburgh Presbytery.

Grand Challenges to Youth Engagement

The Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Black Presbyterian Caucus is presenting the Third Annual Rich Heritage of African Americans in the Presbyterian Church: “Grand Challenges to Youth Engagement.” The Zoom event will take place on February 19, 2022 from 11:00am – 3:00 pm. Spring Retreats for Children and Youth

The Next Generation Ministry Team is planning two retreats this spring. The Tweener retreat will be held on March 5-6 and the Confirmation retreat will be held on April 8-10. New Synod Grant Deadlines

The Synod of the Trinity has streamlined their application deadlines in hopes of simplifying the submission process for all. Moving forward, the following deadlines will apply to all Synod grant categories:

February 1st

May 1st

October 1st

Clerk of Session Training

The Ecclesiastical Committee has scheduled New Clerk of Session Training to be held via Zoom video conferencing on Saturday, February 5, 2022, from 9:00-11:00 am. New Clerks of Session are urged to attend, and all clerks are invited and welcome to attend.
