News from Pittsburgh Presbytery

Like the political and economic leaders confronted by the Easter message during the days of the apostles, those of us who enjoy privileged positions in our current order may well acknowledge unwelcome truths, yet want to silence any attempts to talk about them out loud. We need to do some honest self-assessment about how invested we are in making changes that genuine justice requires. What will that look like in our current social climate? In this week’s meditation, Solidarity or Distancing?, Rev. Sheldon W. Sorge answers this question and more.

Pittsburgh Presbytery Office Reopening!
After more than a year of our offices being closed, presbytery offices are partially reopening. Staff are present at the office Tuesdays through Thursdays, and welcome appointments those days at the office. All staff members are vaccinated against COVID. Conference rooms are available, though distancing and masks are still required if anyone in the meeting has not been fully vaccinated.

Crestfield Camp & Conference Center is searching for a new Executive Director! Click “read more” to access more information about the camp and details of the job description. For questions or to apply please contact Rv. Daniel B. Merry at 412-651-2706 or pastordanpgh55@gmail.com.

Churches and religious organizations can take advantage of many grant opportunities! Let the Synod of the Trinity help you learn how to plan and write a successful proposal through two workshops in April. First is on April 19th and the second is on April 26th. Grant writing does not have to be a painful process! Learn how to imagine and dream your way through a winning proposal.

Pittsburgh Presbytery is in search of a full time Administrative Assistant. The position is open immediately, and will be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is available. The ideal candidate will have a sense of vocation to serve the Lord, be familiar with the polity and workings of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), have excellent organizational and communications skills, and be experienced in website management. If you would like to explore the opportunity to join our team in the essential work of the Pittsburgh Presbytery, please write a letter of interest and send it with your resume to Sheldon Sorge.
