Free Training for Pastors and Church Leaders

Vanessa Bates, CRE, is offering free Training in Church Administration to all pastors and other church leaders as part of her D. Min project. The four-session training will be held via Zoom from 1-3 p.m. (Eastern) on Thursdays beginning July 27 and concluding on Sept 7. Participants can register for one or all of the modules on this site.

Registration Open for the Henderson Leadership Conference

Registration is now open for this year’s Henderson Leadership Conference at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. The Conference takes place September 24-26, 2023. This year’s keynoter Dr. Will Willimon will present the Henderson Lecture on Church and Ministry, “Hope for the Many Churches Where Few Are Gathered,” Monday evening, Sept. 25, 2023, at 7:00 person and online.

Synod TED Talks

At the October 2022 Synod Assembly gathering in State College, PA, the Sunday night program included about a dozen videos and first-person talks highlighting ministries and initiatives in our congregations and presbyteries. They are available on the Synod’s YouTube channel for use as a Sunday morning “Minute for Mission” or as a conversation piece during a weekday Bible study. Celebration Corner: ‘Talk Pittsburgh’

Four members of our Presbytery joined a discussion on KDKA’s ‘Talk Pittsburgh’ to discuss a recent study of why people are leaving faith communities and what those communities might try to reverse the trend. Rev. Mike Holohan, Rev. Erin Angeli, Dr. Scott Hagley, and Dr. Brock Bahler joined Heather Abraham, the host of “Talk Pittsburgh.” The discussion can be viewed here.
