The Pittsburgh Promise’s founding director, the Rev. Saleem Ghubril, was the guest Wednesday of the Rev. Dr. Lee Hinson-Hasty on “Leading Theologically,” a Facebook Live broadcast put on twice each month by the Theological Education Fund of the Presbyterian Foundation. You can watch their conversation here. The Pittsburgh Promise has funded higher education for 10,635 students, helping them attend 142 institutions by raising more than $160 million in scholarships.

Applications are being accepted for a grant available for Pennsylvania’s Non-Profit Security Grant Program. The grants are available to houses of worship and other nonprofit organizations to the commonwealth that serve individuals, groups, or institutions who have been targeted by hate crimes. The grants, which range from $5,000 to $150,000, can be used for a variety of security enhancements. Applications are due by Wednesday, March 2.
