Severe Weather Policy Update

In the event of severe winter weather impacting travel conditions, the offices of Pittsburgh Presbytery will follow the schedule of the Pittsburgh Public Schools.  If Pittsburgh Public Schools close or switch to remote instruction due to unsafe travel conditions (and not due only to extreme cold), in person meetings scheduled at the presbytery center will be cancelled and presbytery staff will work remotely.

If Pittsburgh Public Schools delay their start time due to travel conditions, the opening of the office will be delayed by the same amount of time.  For example, if there is a two-hour delay, the presbytery office will open at 10:00 a.m. instead of at 8:00 a.m. and all meetings scheduled before 10:00 a.m. will be canceled.

Meeting organizers will determine whether a video conference will be held instead of any cancelled in person meeting and will notify participants directly if possible or post information on the announcements page.

Pittsburgh Public School cancellations, delays, and switches to remote instruction are posted on the District’s website www.pghschools.org and announced on local TV stations KDKA, WTAE & WPXI, and radio stations KDKA (AM 1020) & KQV (AM 1410).

NOTE: For December and February Presbytery meeting updates due to weather, check our announcements page.
