2025 Minimum Terms of Call and Benefits Policy Information

This spring, as most, if not all of you know, the Board of Pensions announced the most significant changes to the benefits plan of the PC(USA) since it was established in the early 1980s. To better understand the changes in the Board of Pensions and what the Commission on Ministry is recommending, COM has made several resources available. In this week’s newsletter, Rev. Brian Wallace has shared information about these resources, and on four gatherings that the COM will be offering this summer.

Upcoming Events

The following events take place at the Presbytery Building, unless noted:

June 5
Board of Pensions: Overview of Benefit Plan Changes (10am, Lunch Included, Registration Required)

June 6
Nominations Committee (2:30 – 4:00pm)

June 10
Commission on Preparation for Ministry (4:00 – 7:00pm)

June 11
Commission on Ministry (4:00 – 7:00pm)

Where is the Staff?

This is where the Presbytery Staff will be on Sunday, June 2:

  • Louise Rogers – Preaching at Beulah PC

General Minister Search – May 2024 Update

The General Minister Special Nominating Committee has invited three candidates to participate in final interviews. The committee requests your prayers—especially at this point—because they feel that all three would be excellent choices to fill this position, making their task to hear the call of the Holy Spirit even more challenging. The best kind of challenge. Final interviews will take place in June.

New Section: Upcoming Congregation Events

We want to help share your church event! Starting soon, we would like to start featuring some Congregation Events that would be of interest to the greater Presbytery body in our newsletter. The events should align with our Purpose and Strategy Statement. The form will be due at least 3 weeks prior to the event, and Presbytery staff will review the requests.
