BOP Announcement

The New Benefits Connect will launch very soon! It’s likely that members and employers will receive information from the Board next week for its launch. Everyone who receives any Board benefit (or is an employer who provides any Board benefit) needs to reregister. That includes retirees who receive a Board pension.

Bible Donations Needed

Our partners at the Foundation of HOPE are running very low on the NLT Life Recovery Bible. If you or your congregation has copies of this bible and would like to donate them, they would take anything from 1 copy to 1000. Foundation of HOPE would also accept a financial donation to purchase these bibles. If you or your congregation would be interested in partnering, please contact Charissa Howe (Director of Chaplaincy Services at the Allegheny County Jail).

The Year-End Statistics Season is Open!

The year-end statistical reporting site is currently open. The submission deadline is Thursday, February 8, 2024. Instructions for this year’s statistical reporting has been sent to Clerks of Session. If your church’s clerk has not received the information, please contact Jenny Tarrant and she will send the necessary information.

2023 Per Capita

Per Capita payments for 2023 must be received at the Presbytery no later than January 12th. To learn more about per capita check out our website or the PCUSA website (https://oga.pcusa.org/section/departments/per-capita/). If you are unsure if you owe a balance for 2023 or have questions about 2024 per capita please email Elizabeth Meriwether at emeriwether@pghpresbytery.org.

Per capita is the amount of support, per member, that our congregation remits to our Presbytery that is in part then sent onto our Synod and the General Assembly.  This money is part of the glue that holds Presbyterians together.  It is the money that enables us to work with other Presbyterian churches in our Presbytery and across the country.  It is also money that allows us to work with other churches to further the mission of Jesus Christ around the world.
