Update from the General Minister Search Team

In October, the Search Team opened the application process by posting a Ministry Discernment Profile within the PCUSA system as well as sharing it online and in Presbyterian publications. Presbytery members are invited to share the position with any leaders whom they feel would make an excellent candidate.

CPM Final Discernment Event

On Thursday, November 30, 2023, the Commission on Preparation for Ministry (CPM) will host a Final Discernment Event at the Presbytery Building. We will be presenting Victoria Wellstead as a Candidate for Ordination, Pending Call. All minister members, equalized elders, and elder commissioners to the December Presbytery meeting are encouraged to intend. Please register for the event here.

Leader Connect – The Next Gen Event at Crestfield

Crestfield’s Next Gen Leader Retreat, Leader Connect, provides Next Gen leaders in our region with a time of respite and renewal at the start of the new year, January 29-31, 2024. The retreat is a time for leaders to connect with one another, worship together, and be refreshed through play, fellowship, inspiration, and rest.

Free Flu and Covid Shots

Free Flu and Covid Vaccinations will be offered Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Bethesda Presbyterian Church. Please note that pre-registration is required. Veterans are also invited to register for a Veterans’ Celebration that starts at noon, and includes lunch and entertainment, featuring the Jazz’ Po’etic Band.

Presbyterian Promise Scholarship

The Presbyterian Promise Scholarship is a commitment by Presbyterian College (PC) in South Carolina to recognize students for their merit and affiliation with the Presbyterian Church. PC seeks to develop students academically and spiritually in this signature scholarship. Students who are of members of Presbyterian churches will receive a scholarship for a minimum of $20,000 per year for up to four years—an $80,000 commitment.
