A Letter to Pittsburgh Presbytery from

Dear Presbytery,

We are delighted to be able to meet at Crestfield Camp and Conference Center to worship together, to do our business, and to enjoy times of fellowship in the beauty of God’s creation. We hope that you will join us in person or watch via the live stream.

We will begin our time together with worship with Rev. Brian Wallace preaching and Mr. Ben Little, Director of Christian Education at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church in Monroeville, leading music. During worship, we will observe our Service of Remembrance and Rev. Ralph Lowe and Rev. Patrice Fowler-Searcy will lead us as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper together.

During our time for introductions and updates, we will meet new members being received into our presbytery and acknowledge those moving to new positions. We will see highlights of the summer at Crestfield and hear from one of our Freedom Rising grant recipients, from the Presbyterian Historical Society, from the Peacemaking Ministry Team, and from the New Worshipping Communities Commission.

Under our Executive Committee report we will not only approve our 2024 budget but also updates of the important work being done by the Nominating Committee for the Repair and Reconciliation Alliance. Our Commission on Preparation for Ministry will bring two Candidates forward for approval for ordination under the new system approved at the May meeting and our Nominating Committee will present their candidate for Senior Vice Moderator for 2024. Finally, we will receive an update on the on-going leadership transition process.
