News from Pittsburgh Presbytery

Most of us are familiar with the “Doubting Thomas” story. Aren’t we all like Thomas, slow to accept the story of Easter? It flies in the face of everything we know to be true about life and death. The only grounds for accepting it is to trust those who say they have seen the risen Lord. But even that wasn’t enough for Thomas. Is it enough for us? In this week’s meditation, The Most Blessed of Believers, Rev. Dr. Sheldon W. Sorge explores this question and more.

The Eastern Region of the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators Spring Event will be held online April 26-28. The conference theme, “Polishing Stones: Nurturing Faith Practice,” will be explored in a keynote by Meg Rift and David Maxwell, worship led by the Rev. Dr. Jim Morgan, and an array of workshop choices. This conference is designed for pastors, church educators and church members who are active in teaching the faith – and those teaching the faith to their grandchildren via Zoom! Registration fee is $50. Click “read more” for details and registration information.
