What is the Pittsburgh Presbyterian Foundation?
The Foundation was established in 1994 by Pittsburgh Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church (USA). It provides a way for people of faith to make a difference for Christ through support of the mission and ministry of the Presbytery, its churches and mission agencies.
Through the generous gifts of individuals and congregations of the Presbytery, the Foundation has established permanent endowments to further the Christian ministry in our area. Presbytery programs and projects like Crestfield Camp & Conference Center and the New Church Development campaign have benefited from Foundation support. And over the years many churches and mission agencies of Pittsburgh Presbytery have been able to impact thousands of lives through the grants and financial support of the Foundation.
Making a gift to the Pittsburgh Presbyterian Foundation means making a difference for Christ in our community.
How does the foundation fulfill its mission?
The Foundation manages three fund categories to advance the mission of the Presbytery:
- The General Fund
This fund is comprised of unrestricted gifts. Its investment income is distributed at least annually at the direction of Pittsburgh Presbytery
- Special Funds
These funds are established by their donors to provide ongoing support of specific churches, programs or mission agencies of Pittsburgh Presbytery
- Donor Advised Funds
These funds are established by donors with an interest in ongoing participation in the mission of Pittsburgh Presbytery by advising annually on how income will be distributed
There are many ways to support the ministry and mission of Pittsburgh Presbytery through charitable gifts to the Foundation. And because the Foundation is a 501(C)(3) corporation, giving can yield significant tax advantages.
- Cash
