Pittsburgh Presbytery Welcomes Laurie Clapper as New Administrative Assistant
Laurie Clapper is the new Administrative Assistant at Pittsburgh Presbytery supporting the Rev. Betty Angelini, Executive Director of Crestfield Camp & Conference Center, and Sharon Stewart, Director of Disciplemaking & Spiritual Growth, in their ministries. She will also be the staff liaison for Committee on Preparation for Ministry. Her first day at the presbytery will be Monday, August 16.
Laurie grew up outside of Philadelphia with her parents, her little sister Kim and her twin sister Beth. She attended Gettysburg College and graduated in 2006 with a degree in Anthropology. While in college, she founded a Gettysburg chapter of Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC). Laurie loved ministry so much that, after graduation, she joined the staff at CCC, serving several schools in eastern Pennsylvania. Through Campus Crusade, she met and fell in love with her husband, Jason. They were married on March 8, 2008. Because Jason felt God calling him to become a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the PC(USA), they moved to Pittsburgh last year for him to continue his studies at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Over the last year while Jason attended school, Laurie participated in a year of service with AmeriCorps VISTA at North Hills Community Outreach, where she helped people in poverty and crisis to find gainful employment. Her prayer is that God will use her gifts and talents to show Him glory in Pittsburgh Presbytery.
