MISSION
Our original mission
purpose was to create, develop, sponsor, promote and operate programs and
services for seniors residing in the North Boroughs communities and portions
of Ross Township. We also want to provide such services and programs without
charge or for nominal consideration, and to aid in the improvement of the
quality and accessibility of services otherwise available to such persons
within their communities. In doing so, we hope to help them to live independently
for as long as they can. As an interdenominational nonprofit organization
we strive at all times to be witnesses to our faith through our association
with others as individuals and through our programs.
CURRENT PROGRAMS
HISTORY
North Suburban Adult
Services, (NSAS), was founded by the late Marjorie Shillito, then a member
of the Fremont Avenue Presbyterian Church, now the Northminster Presbyterian
Church. The first meeting of the Steering Committee was held on June 23,
1975. Subsequent meetings led to the filing for Articules of Incorporation
which were approved May 24, 1976. Volunteers are and always have been the
true source of strength of NSAS. These volunteers represent many Christian
denominations, and in the true meaning of their faith, live a life in service
to others.

Gladys Westman, Receptionist; Dennis White, Cook and Helen McNanara, Cook.
