Great Commission Ministry Team

The Great Commission Team (GCT) website of Pittsburgh Presbytery is designed to connect local congregations with one another so congregations, groups and individuals who have an interest in mission can coordinate their efforts in order to reach local and global mission opportunities for Jesus Christ.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.....and surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18, 20

Mission Statement:

In response to the Holy Spirit, we encourage and support individuals, congregations and groups as they step out to participate in God’s mission locally and globally.

GCT Ministry Team Survey:

Click here to access the Great Commission Ministry Team Survey.
We are gathering this information to encourage congregations, groups, and individuals within the presbytery to share where and how they are engaged in local, national and global mission that would enable collaborative mission endeavors.

Note: The information collected from this survey will be made available to all churches in Pittsburgh Presbytery through this website.

Preparing Mission Teams for Haiti:

The Great Commission Team is excited about our mission project in Haiti. There are a few things you need to know if your congregation plans to send a mission team to Haiti to help install clean water solar power systems. We also plan to form a team from various congregations in the presbytery. Click here to learn exactly what you or your congregation must do to get prepared.

World Mission Needs Help Finding Candidates for Mission Service

Presbyterian World Mission leaders are asking Presbyterians across the country to help them find qualified candidates for international mission service. Nineteen mission positions are now available and more will be posted in coming days, according to Nancy Cavalcante, mission service recruitment coordinator for Presbyterian World Mission. Filling these positions is crucial if the church is to meet the General Assembly Council's goal of increasing the number of mission co-workers for the first time in 50 years, she says.
